Painting in Photoshop

Painting in Photoshop

I decided it was time to toy around with some tips and techniques for painting up concept artwork by hand in Photoshop.  While I've touched up renders, etc, I've never really tried my hand at actual sketching and painting from scratch.

This is my first attempt at painting up a quick 1-minute doodle of a character.  There was no real plan for this illustration, and I probably could have benefited from actually having some reference to work from as well!

I'm sure with a little more creative thinking, my next project will have a reason to be painted! lol! big_smile

Re: Painting in Photoshop

Here's a very minor play with the Liquify tool in photoshop to adjust details like eye/brow squinting, bring the nose around a little more to match the angle of the head a tiny bit better, etc.

I'm not going to continue on with this one (my playing time with this is done for now) even though there are still issues with some of the artwork here...

I'll be back later when I've made something new.  I have a few conceptual designs I need to draw up for another project, so something soon...
