The DOFCalc scripts are designed to help make Depth Of Field a lot easier to work with.

Where most people have issues is when having to set the f-stop.  Often, its a bit of a guessing game and most the time it ends up being a 'tweak til it looks right' exercise.  These scripts are designed to use the scale of a focus null object to determine the area to keep in focus, and hence take the hassle out of the f-stop.
