KiWavers wouldn't exist without the people who help keep it alive. Since its inception in 1997/1998, its taken time and passion to keep it rolling along monthly for over 12 years. This page is all about those people and places that make sure KiWavers stays alive 2009 and onwards into the future!

 


 

Kevman3dKevman3D, also sometimes known as Kevin Phillips, is the person who so wanted to meet other people passionate about 3D and LightWave that he started a User Group to socialise and check out what everybody has been doing...

Since the end of 1997, he's spent each month making sure that the support for users of LightWave is kept alive in New Zealand.

 


Simon Gould-Thorpe

Simon Gould-Thorpe is perhaps the biggest supporter of the LWUG for many years, and has been bringing along his grunty PC gear that we use at every meeting for presenting and demoing on. He's an artist with a mad passion for film and animation, and attends every meeting without fail, always there with PC under arm. For the last two years, he's successfully put together a team of keen artists to produce a short animated film in the local 48-hour short film contest that is run each year here in NZ.

 


Natcoll DesignNatcoll Design technology in Auckland have kindly supported the LWUG, giving us a location to host our meetings each month. Natcoll teaches Animation (both LightWave and Maya) alongside its great Graphics Design and Video Production courses. Kevin has been teaching there for over 6 years...
